Royal purple was achieved by crushing ‘Murex’ sea snails. The ‘hoi paloi‘ made do with Madder-dyed fabric overdyed with Indigo.

There is ‘Slow Stitch’ and then there is ‘S L O W Stitch’

Your book has been made using traditional bookbinding methods and covered with bookcloth made from naturally-dyed fabrics embellished with darning.

Please note: natural dyes are tricksy to photograph and in real life the colours are less saturated than digital cameras portray (especially the reds).
