Lindsey Tyson

Lindsey Tyson is a multi-award-winning abstract artist based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. With a background in textile design, her material-led practice spans painting, sculpture and jewellery, united by a fascination with texture, surface and form.

Experimentation and discovery are central to her work. Working intuitively, Lindsey explores the possibilities of different materials, responding to their unpredictable qualities and allowing unexpected discoveries to shape the direction of each piece. Her practice moves between control and chance, balancing deliberate decisions with the freedom to explore.

Inspired by the natural world, changing landscapes and the quiet traces of time, her work evokes a sense of place without seeking to represent it literally. Her Wildscapes draw particular inspiration from the distinctive hills and moorland surrounding Haworth.

Whether large or small, her work invites curiosity, connection and closer exploration.
