Lynsey Walters
Lynsey studied printed textiles at Edinburgh College of Art, & went on from there to the RCA to study constructed Textiles. She now lives & works in Newport on Tay
Lynsey designs and makes wearable wool jewellery and hair accessories inspired by her vintage collections and her quirky sense of humour. The jewellery is based loosely on an imaginary garden crossed with a delicious haberdashery shop. The work is strongly coloured and has a delightful nostalgic charm.
Lynsey has been in business for 21 years since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2000 where she studied Constructed textiles. She had previously gained a BA(Hons) from Edinburgh College of Art in Printed Textiles. She decided to wing it and have a go at setting up on her own after Tricia Guild of ‘Designers Guild’ bought one of her pieces at the RCA show giving a boost to her confidence!
