Ruth Makes Jewellery
Ruth Makes Jewellery features the work of Ruth Sutcliffe and Jez Coates. Their sterling silver jewellery captures momentary snapshots of the numerous characters, either wildlife or their cats, who live amongst them in the West Yorkshire hills and moors.
The jewellery is created using recycled silver, either hand sawn silver sheet, or hand cast silver off-cuts. Atmosphere is created in their oxidised pieces, the natural result of soldering layers of silver together, copper and brass highlights adding warmth too.
Where required, their jewellery is laser hallmarked at Birmingham Assay Office, with their individual RS and JC hallmarks.
